1. 그러므로 이제 그리스도 예수님 안에 있는 자들에게는 정죄함이 없나니 그들은 육신을 따라 걷지 아니하고 /성령]을 따라 걷느니라.
2. 이는 그리스도 예수님 안에 있는 생명의 /성령]의 법이 죄와 사망의 법에서 나를 해방시켰기 때문이라.
3. 율법이 육신으로 말미암아 연약하여 능히 하지 못하는 것을 [하나님]께서는 하셨나니 곧 자신의 [아들]을 죄 있는 육신의 모양으로 보내시고 또 죄로 인하여 육신 안에서 죄를 정죄하셨느니라.
4. 이것은 육신을 따라 걷지 아니하고 /성령]을 따라 걷는 우리 안에서 율법의 의가 성취되게 하려 하심이니라.
5. 육신을 따르는 자들은 육신의 일들을 생각하거니와 /성령]을 따르는 자들은 /성령]의 일들을 생각하나니
6. 육신적으로 생각하는 것은 사망이요 영적으로 생각하는 것은 생명과 평안이니라.
7. 육신적인 생각은 [하나님]의 법에 복종하지 아니할 뿐 아니라 참으로 그리할 수도 없으므로 [하나님]과 원수 되는 것이니라.
8. 그런즉 이와 같이 육신 안에 있는 자들은 [하나님]을 기쁘게 할 수 없느니라.
9. 그러나 너희 안에 [하나님]의 [영]께서 거하시면 너희가 육신 안에 있지 아니하고 /성령] 안에 있나니 이제 어떤 사람에게 그리스도의 [영]이 없으면 그는 그분의 사람이 아니니라.
10. 또 그리스도께서 너희 안에 계시면 몸은 죄로 인해 죽었으나 /성령]은 의로 인해 생명이 되시느니라.
11. 그러나 만일 예수님을 죽은 자들로부터 일으키신 분의 [영]께서 너희 안에 거하시면 그리스도를 죽은 자들로부터 일으키신 분께서 너희 안에 거하시는 자신의 [영]을 통해 너희의 죽을 몸도 살리시리라.
12. 그러므로 형제들아, 우리가 빚진 자로되 육신을 따라 살도록 육신에게 빚지지 아니하였느니라.
13. 너희가 육신을 따라 살면 죽을 것이로되 /성령]을 통해 몸의 행실을 죽이면 살리라.
14. [하나님]의 [영]에 의해 인도 받는 자들은 다 [하나님]의 아들들이니
15. 너희는 다시 두려움에 이르는 속박의 영을 받지 아니하고 양자 삼으시는 [영]을 받았느니라. 그분을 힘입어 우리가, 아바, [아버지], 하고 부르짖느니라.
16. [성령]께서 친히 우리의 영과 더불어 우리가 [하나님]의 자녀인 것을 증언하시나니
17. 자녀이면 상속자 곧 [하나님]의 상속자요, 그리스도와 공동 상속자니라. 우리가 그분과 함께 고난 당하면 이것은 우리가 함께 영광도 받으려 함이니라.
18. 내가 생각하건대 이 현 시대의 고난들은 앞으로 우리 안에 나타날 영광과 족히 비교될 수 없도다.
19. 창조물이 간절히 기대하며 기다리는 바는 [하나님]의 아들들이 나타나는 것이니라.
20. 창조물이 헛된 것에 복종하게 된 것은 자진해서 된 것이 아니요, 소망 중에 그것을 복종하게 하신 분으로 인한 것이니
21. 이는 창조물 자신도 썩음의 속박에서 해방되어 [하나님]의 자녀들의 영광스런 자유에 이를 것이기 때문이라.
22. 또 전체 창조물이 지금까지 함께 신음하며 고통 중에 산고를 치르는 줄을 우리가 아나니
23. 그들뿐 아니라 우리 자신 곧 /성령]의 첫 열매를 소유한 우리까지도 속으로 신음하며 양자 삼으심 즉 우리 몸의 구속을 기다림은
24. 우리가 소망으로 구원을 받았기 때문이라. 그러나 보이는 소망은 소망이 아니니 어찌하여 사람이 보는 것을 여전히 바라리요?
25. 그러나 우리가 보지 못하는 것을 바라면 인내로 그것을 기다리느니라.
26. 이와 같이 /성령]께서도 우리의 연약함을 도우시나니 우리가 마땅히 기도할 바를 알지 못하나 /성령]께서 말로 할 수 없는 신음으로 친히 우리를 위해 중보하시느니라.
27. 마음을 살피시는 분께서 /성령]의 생각이 무엇인지 아시나니 이는 그분께서 [하나님]의 뜻대로 성도들을 위해 중보하시기 때문이니라.
28. 우리가 알거니와 [하나님]을 사랑하는 자들 곧 그분의 목적에 따라 부르심을 받은 자들에게는 모든 것이 합력하여 선을 이루느니라.
29. 그분께서 미리 아신 자들을 또한 예정하사 자신의 [아들]의 형상과 같은 모습이 되게 하셨나니 이것은 그분이 많은 형제들 가운데서 처음 난 자가 되게 하려 하심이니라.
30. 뿐만 아니라 그분께서는 예정하신 그들을 또한 부르시고 부르신 그들을 또한 의롭다 하시고 의롭다 하신 그들을 또한 영화롭게 하셨느니라.
31. 그런즉 이 일들에 대하여 우리가 무슨 말을 하리요? 만일 [하나님]께서 우리를 위하시면 누가 우리를 대적하리요?
32. 자신의 [아들]을 아끼지 아니하시고 우리 모두를 위해 그분을 내주신 분께서 어찌 그 아들과 함께 또한 모든 것을 우리에게 값없이 주지 아니하시겠느냐?
33. 누가 무슨 일로 [하나님]께서 선택하신 자들을 고소하리요? 의롭다 하시는 분은 [하나님]이시니
34. 누가 정죄하리요? 죽으신 분은 그리스도시요, 참으로 다시 일어나신 분도 그리스도시니 그분께서는 [하나님]의 오른편에 계시며 또한 우리를 위해 중보하시느니라.
35. 누가 우리를 그리스도의 사랑에서 떼어 놓으리요? 환난이나 곤경이나 핍박이나 기근이나 벌거벗음이나 위험이나 칼이랴?
36. 이것은 기록된바, 우리가 종일토록 [주]를 위해 죽임을 당하며 도살당할 양같이 여겨졌나이다, 함과 같으니라.
37. 아니라. 이 모든 것 가운데서 우리는 우리를 사랑하신 그분을 통해 정복자들보다 더 나은 자들이니라.
38. 내가 확신하노니 사망이나 생명이나 천사들이나 정사들이나 권능들이나 현재 있는 것들이나 장래 있을 것들이나
39. 높음이나 깊음이나 다른 어떤 창조물이라도 능히 우리를 그리스도 예수 우리 [주] 안에 있는 [하나님]의 사랑에서 떼어 놓지 못하리라.

 

 

1. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4. That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
12. Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.
13. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
14. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
21. Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
24. For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25. But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
26. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
27. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
28. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
29. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
30. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
31. What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32. He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33. Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
34. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36. As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39. Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
