1. 그러므로 형제들아, 내가 [하나님]의 긍휼을 힘입어 너희에게 간청하노니 너희는 너희 몸을 거룩하고 [하나님]께서 받으실 만한 살아 있는 희생물로 드리라. 그것이 너희의 합당한 섬김이니라.
2. 너희는 이 세상에 동화되지 말고 오직 너희 생각을 새롭게 함으로 변화를 받아 [하나님]의 선하시고 받으실 만하며 완전하신 뜻이 무엇인지 입증하도록 하라.
3. 내게 주신 은혜를 힘입어 너희 가운데 있는 각 사람에게 내가 말하노니 각 사람은 마땅히 생각할 것보다 더 높이 자기에 대하여 생각하지 말고 [하나님]께서 각 사람에게 믿음의 분량을 나누어 주신대로 맑은 정신으로 생각하라.
4. 우리가 한 몸에 많은 지체를 갖되 모든 지체가 같은 직무를 갖지는 아니하나니
5. 이와 같이 우리도 여럿이지만 그리스도 안에서 한 몸이요 각 사람이 서로 지체이니라.
6. 그런즉 우리에게 주신 은혜에 따라 우리가 다른 선물들을 가지고 있으니 대언이면 우리가 믿음의 분량대로 대언하고,
7. 혹은 사역이면 우리가 우리의 사역하는 일로 섬기며, 가르치는 자는 가르치는 일로 섬기고,
8. 권면하는 자는 권면하는 일로 섬기며, 주는 자는 단순함으로 그 일을 하고, 다스리는 자는 부지런함으로, 긍휼을 베푸는 자는 즐거움으로 할 것이니라.
9. 사랑에 꾸밈이 없게 하라. 악한 것을 몹시 싫어하고 선한 것에 붙어 있으라.
10. 형제의 사랑으로 서로 친절하게 애정을 가지고 서로 먼저 존중하며
11. 일을 게을리 하지 말고 영이 뜨거운 가운데 [주]를 섬기며
12. 소망 중에 기뻐하고 환난 중에 인내하며 늘 절박하게 기도하고
13. 성도들의 필요에 따라 나누어 주며 손님 대접하기를 힘쓰라.
14. 너희를 핍박하는 자들을 축복하라. 축복하고 저주하지 말라.
15. 기뻐하는 자들과 함께 기뻐하고 슬피 우는 자들과 함께 슬피 울라.
16. 서로 같은 생각을 가지며 높은 것들에 생각을 두지 말고 도리어 낮은 처지의 사람들에게 겸손히 행하며 스스로 지혜 있는 것으로 여기지 말라.
17. 아무에게도 악을 악으로 갚지 말고 모든 사람의 눈앞에서 정직한 일들을 예비하라.
18. 가능하다면 너희가 할 수 있는 대로 모든 사람과 화평하게 지내라.
19. 극진히 사랑하는 자들아, 너희 스스로 원수를 갚지 말고 도리어 진노하심에 맡기라. 기록된바, 원수 갚는 일은 내 것이니 내가 갚으리라. [주]가 말하노라, 하였느니라.
20. 그러므로 네 원수가 주리거든 그를 먹이고 그가 목마르거든 그에게 마실 것을 주라. 그리함으로 네가 그의 머리 위에 숯불을 쌓으리라.
21. 악에게 지지 말고 도리어 선으로 악을 이기라.

 

1. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
3. For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
4. For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
5. So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
6. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
7. Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
8. Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
9. Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
10. Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
11. Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
12. Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
13. Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
14. Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
15. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
16. Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
17. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
18. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
19. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
20. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
21. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
